After the FACT 6-29-09

This weeks show treaded into weird waters as we explored some of the various DIY cassette releases on labels from the early 80's, however a couple of familiar tunes also made their appearances to make sure you knew what show you were listening to. I will be gone next week, but hopefully this show can be rerun from where I am.

This week we heard from In Camera, Dark Day, ESG, Slits, A Certain Ratio, Kurki, Fred Firth, and a bunch of other stuff. Anne Steel showed up again this week, I can't get enough of her song My Time. The show show is now squarely in the new time slot at 2-4 Saturday.

After the FACT 7-25-09

I hadn't done my show in a month and I almost lost this podcast twice, but here it is, brand new and ready for download. This episode is full of female groups or groups with female lead singers: Missing Persons, X Ray Pop, Pink Industry, Lene Lovich, and Lydia Lunch just to name a few. This isn't a bad thing, just unintentional. When I was doing some post production on the show I had the computer crash on me twice and I really thought the show was lost, but miraculously I was able to rescue it from the temp folder, and here it is for you, hope you enjoy.

After the FACT 5-30-09

After the FACT is the Post-Punk and New Wave show, usually focusing on the years 1977-1984. I haven't done the show in nearly a month but finally here is a new episode. This week, I featured a block of tunes from the Talking Head's album Remain in Light that have only recently come into the light, 3 unfinished tracks that didn't make the final album cut. That and much more.

This Week's Episode

Also, this video, which was suggested by DJ Wolfenstien 3D.

After the FACT 4-23-08

I will apologize in advance for the poor quality of this weeks show. My ipod, which contained this weeks carefully crafted playlist, decided to enter the inescapable clutches of recovery mode some 45 minutes before my show began. Unable to restore it, I clumsily moved as much music as I could on to my slowly dying and unreliable laptop and grabbed a few records and head up to the studio. For reasons unknown my laptop continuously overloaded and caused some skipping. That and the assholes who kept calling and requesting ODB made this a pretty crummy show for me. Hopefully not for you. It's only an hour long, and there are some great songs in it. I've got an ipod I'm bidding on on eBay so hopefully next week we will be back up to full throttle.

Download this weeks episode

I created a myspace account for the show and an email account for comments and requests. You can send anything at all to afterthefactonkxua@gmail.com . I have had quite a few people try and call the show and want to discuss what I'm playing, which is kind of hard when I'm trying to do the show, so that would be a good place for that kind of stuff. Oh yeah, and check out the Klaus Nomi Documentry.

Now here is an awesome video by Ployrock, is Philip Glass playing keys?

After the FACT - 4-11-09

KXUA's Post-punk and New Wave show featuring the years 1977-1984.
This week we featured Lydia Lunch, and a large block of female artists , as well as a block of music from the movie Starstruck. W e also had a small Icelandic block with two early Bjork tracks. I plan on dedicating a whole show to Icelandic music eventually, a lot of great Post-punk and New Wave came out of that place. This was the first show in quite a while, but we try and do it every Saturday 4-6. If you missed this weeks show, you can download it below.

After the FACT: 2 Episodes

After the FACT is the Post-punk and New Wave show, and it comes on every Saturday from 4-6 PM. We tend to stay within the years 1977-1984, but occasionally stray out to visit earlier or later incarnations of punk and DIY inspired music.

I'm just now putting up last weeks super show. To make up for missing two weeks last show went an extra hour. I broke it up into two hour and a half chunks for easy consumption. Also, here is this weeks show as well. That is a good 5 hours for yeah, should keep you busy since I will be gone next week. Enjoy.
