Gay History Feature Show 6/29

Last night, I had the honor of ending Northwest Arkansas's Pride Week with a two-hour broadcast in our Monday night feature show slot. I think the show went pretty well; I interviewed an L, a T, a B, and an ally (I'm the G), so I covered all of the letters in the GLBT movement. Plus, Big Bad Gina joined me in studio for some tunes and talking. Musically, it's kind of all over the place, because I play a lot of different gay music. But what I'm most proud of are the interviews.

A word with Rick Miller star and creator of MacHomer

Hey All, it's DJ Mega Mike.  I went to see the production of MacHomer at the Walton Arts Center today and it was fantastic.  I even got to meet Rick Miller, the star and creator of the show. He agreed to do a quick interview with me, which is linked bellow, over the phone.  This was my first over the phone interview so it was a little shaky and last minute since we just agreed about it so I didn't realize the volume on me is turned up more than it should resulting in some nasal sounding speak and chuckles but for the most part it was a fantastic interview.  The last performance of it is 05/31/09 at 2:00 at the Walton Arts Center.  Go see it if you can, and if not at least check out his website at www.machomer.com.

Special Sneak Peek during Over Mozart's Dead Body

Tomorrow night will be an exciting night for Over Mozart's Dead Body. We'll have a guest DJ, but also, we're previewing a new segment soon to make its way to KXUA.

It's an as-of-yet unnamed show, where we just go around and interview awesome Fayetteville locals. I spent 5 hours on Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market, just gathering some interviews. The show doesn't have a format yet (or even a name), so tomorrow is about as first-run as it gets. I'll be welcoming comments on what you think is awesome and awful about the show, either in the comment field, or on-air in the booth (575-5883).
