DJ EJ's Best of Electronica/Dance 2008

It's been an incredible year for electronica and dance music on KXUA! On Monday, December 29th, I played the best of the best from what I reviewed and charted (RPM charts for College Music Journal) in the electronica genre for KXUA in 2008. The first half of the broadcast featured music by Solid Gold, The Black Ghosts, Sam Sparro, Don Rimini, The Faint, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Sebastien Tellier, Stereolab, Squarepusher, The Emergency, Heartsrevolution, and Hot Chip. Download it here:

The second half of the show featured music from Yelle, Casino Music, Hercules and Love Affair, The Tough Alliance, Ladyhawke, Midnight Juggernauts, Crystal Castles, The Presets, and Cut Copy. Download it here:

Best of KXUA all this week and next!

Kind of late to post this I guess, but this week, next week (and last week) we will have (and have had) mostly the best of KXUA playing in lieu of random automationness. By that I mean old recordings of great KXUA shows. (So that's why the Drive in Speakerbox was playing at 8:00AM this morning!) So the good part is that we don't have to listen to randomness for days and days, we get hand picked music from KXUAs most dedicated DJs. The bad news is that we get a lot of confusing out dated PSAs, concert calendars, and references to what time it is that are totally off. THIS CAN BE WEIRD! But, the keen listener should be able to pick up on the fact that it's a recording. KXUA will continue to play best of shows until DJs start coming back possibly sometime next week. DJs that are still in town are still doing there shows at their regular times.

ALSO, we now have an answering machine in the studio on the request line. So, if no one is in the studio give it a call and leave us a message. Good messages will be used on the air!

We might not get to any songs from Norrlandspojkarna this year, but we will hear from another Swedish band, I promise!
