hey kids, on this show, in the second hour i played an officially released bootleg of Detroit legends SONIC'S RENDEZVOUS BAND. recorded jan. 14th 1978 opening for THE RAMONES. this is one of the only releases of this band featuring Fred "sonic" Smith of THE MC5 and Scott Asheton of THE STOOGES who never released anything while together in the 70's other than a (rare and out-of-print) 45rpm single.

This is a feature show on one of my favorite Arkansas bands. Shindig Shop started in Little Rock in the early 1990's, eventually moving to Fayetteville in the mid-90's and continued to play as a popular act off and on until about 2003. This is an interview with two of the founding members Paul Burnham (keyboards, lead singer, songwriter) and Ross Hurley (guitarist). I (Filthy Phil) do not claim to be the best interviewer, but we had fun with it and i hope it comes across entertaining anyway. For those that got to see this legendary band play back in the day, this should be a treat. Hey kids, this is part two of my little southern rock feature shows for summer. This is a genre of music that is very important to me and one i think is somewhat over looked. 1970's Southern rock is a unique blend of blues, jazz, and country music, sometimes played with unusual band set ups like three guitars and or dual trap kit drummers. Most of these bands featured here all knew each other and toured a lot together back in the 70's and 80's. This could also serve as a beginners guild to Capricorn Records of Macon, GA in the 70's and muscle shoals studios.
