KRFA Slam 'n' Jam 1988

I've been doing a little research on KXUA history and stumbled upon some pictures from KXUAs ancestor KRFA, the closed circuit station that was disbanded in 1994, from which we inherited our format and some vinyl. This is from an all day music event that was supposed to be annual but apparently only happened twice. These are all DJs.

Spring Break!!!!

This week KXUA with be on Spring Break programming. That means we will be playing the best of KXUA so far this year. All your favorite KXUA shows, as well as all the special shows and interviews of this year, will be re ran all week long. This will hopefully explain why the DJ on the air is talking about vastly different weather, or somhow confused about what month, day, and time it is, or is talking about a show that happened weeks ago as if it hasn't happened yet.

Take this opportunity to leave us some awesome voice mail on the KXUA request line, 479-575-5883!

Don't worry, we will be back to our regular schedule next week, thanks for tunning in!

Best of KXUA all this week and next!

Kind of late to post this I guess, but this week, next week (and last week) we will have (and have had) mostly the best of KXUA playing in lieu of random automationness. By that I mean old recordings of great KXUA shows. (So that's why the Drive in Speakerbox was playing at 8:00AM this morning!) So the good part is that we don't have to listen to randomness for days and days, we get hand picked music from KXUAs most dedicated DJs. The bad news is that we get a lot of confusing out dated PSAs, concert calendars, and references to what time it is that are totally off. THIS CAN BE WEIRD! But, the keen listener should be able to pick up on the fact that it's a recording. KXUA will continue to play best of shows until DJs start coming back possibly sometime next week. DJs that are still in town are still doing there shows at their regular times.

ALSO, we now have an answering machine in the studio on the request line. So, if no one is in the studio give it a call and leave us a message. Good messages will be used on the air!

Hour of Slack Joins KXUA Line Up

I'm proud to announce that after much negotiations KXUA will begin airing it's first syndicated radio show, THE HOUR OF SLACK. HOS has been a college radio staple since the 1980s, has broadcast over 1,100 episodes, and can be heard on roughly 30 other stations. The show is produced by the Church of the Subgenius and features commentary and rants by church founder Reverend Ivan Stang, along with recorded material from all SubGenius radio & stage shows, bands, ranters, media barrage collage artists, and selections from the indie audio underground created by various Subgenii around the world. The show will be brodcast 10-12 Tuesday nights, and is also available for free download (like most KXUA programming) in podcast form.

So quit your job, slack off, and PRAISE BOB!

Carni Pics!

Here are all the pictures from the carnival in existence that I am aware of. Thanks to everyone that came and helped out, and thanks to our musical guests!

If any one wants a Medieval Skiball machine we have one for free. The winner of it never claimed it.
