Special Sneak Peek during Over Mozart's Dead Body

Tomorrow night will be an exciting night for Over Mozart's Dead Body. We'll have a guest DJ, but also, we're previewing a new segment soon to make its way to KXUA.

It's an as-of-yet unnamed show, where we just go around and interview awesome Fayetteville locals. I spent 5 hours on Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market, just gathering some interviews. The show doesn't have a format yet (or even a name), so tomorrow is about as first-run as it gets. I'll be welcoming comments on what you think is awesome and awful about the show, either in the comment field, or on-air in the booth (575-5883).

Over Mozart's Dead Body Makes a comeback.

Sorry for the hiatus, folks. I got horribly ridiculously sick and was bedridden and shit. Then everyone's card access got wiped, so once I was better I couldn't get into the studio anyway. But all that is fixed now, so I'm back and ready to fulfill all of your contemporary classical desires. Which I know are vast.

In a special Wakarusa inspired episode, I shoe-horn a Wakarusa act into my show by just playing a bunch of 'rhythmically bound music.' Which really, is most music. Most of tonight's show will focus on driving percussion parts. I've moved up, too: I'm not at midnight anymore! Now at 10:00 pm (I think. I'm actually awaiting confirmation on this)!

Anyway, as a way of making up for being a shitty DJ in absentia, I was gonna give you the podcasts I recorded but never actually got around to posting. But mediafire is being a bitch, so nevermind. I'll just give you guys a massive podcast dump sometime soon.

New Show—Over Mozart's Dead Body

Completely inexplicably and halfway through the semester, I'm starting a new show on classical music since WWII. I'm kicking it off with two hours of minimalism's poster boy, Philip Glass, and a few of his precursors. So tune in tomorrow, Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, midnight to two. Don't give me the "I'll be asleep" excuse.
